Walking in the Highway of Holiness, the only way leading to Eternal Life

When a highway is established it starts from holiness
a certain point to a certain destination! To reach the desired destination, we have to take the correct route that leads to that very destination. Salvation, which we have gotten by accepting Jesus Christ into our lives as Savior is the sure start of a Christian journey whose destiny is to be with LORD forever and inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. The highway that a Christian ought to walk on is what we are going to be looking at today.

a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isaiah 35:8-10)

In the above scripture, it is stated very clearly that a Highway of Holiness will be established and a certain people will journey on it. Isaiah the Prophet, when he foresaw the birth, suffering, death and subsequent resurrection of Jesus the Messiah, he knew that God was establishing a new and living way, to bring to Himself a people to dwell in his presence – “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,  By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh” (Heb 10,19)

This highway that Prophet Isaiah prophesied about was as a matter of fact the only highway leading those who walk on it to enter Heaven, their eternal home. This Highway was Jesus Himself – “Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me’” (John 14, 6)

The Highway of Holiness is already there and the Word tells us that no unclean thing, no lion (devourer), no ravenous beast walks in it. Those who walk in it look foolish, but God calls them His Redeemed ones; His ransomed ones & He assures that they will return and come back to Zion (New Jerusalem) to partake of the everlasting promise – “And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isiah 35, 10)

We are living in the End Times and the promise of Christ to Rapture those who pursue Holiness is about to get fulfilled, as all the signs, hints, and clues are with us. The question we ask ourselves today is: Are we walking in the Highway of Holiness, the only given route leading us to be Partakers of the Promise or have we lost direction and ignorantly diverted to another direction leading us somewhere else?

Dear friends in Christ, the Standards of God have not changed in any way throughout all the generations. Technology has not changed who God is nor has civilization made Him to accommodate what he abhorred from the very foundations of the earth. His only standard remains to be absolute Holiness and Righteousness. The saints who lived in the earlier days made it because they maintained Holiness & if they entered Heaven by walking the path of Holiness, it should remind us that we are no different and that God requires of the same from us. We who are called by His Name, His ransomed ones through the Blood of Jesus need to be perfect in this very basic Stature of a Perfect a God – “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matt 5,48)

How do we dwell and keep walking in this Highway of Holiness?

(A) Repentance of sins every time is the refresher to keep us close to God always

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3,19)

(B) Living in total obedience of God’s Precepts –

Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.” (Duet 5, 32-33)

(C) Complete leading by the Holy Spirit of God brings about Perfection in Holiness and is the wine to quench the weariness in the Highway, The Comforter and Ultimate Guide all along –

“I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” (John 14, 16-18)

“The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14, 26)

At this crucial juncture, what we need as Holiness of God
we prepare for the glorious event of Rapture  is the overflow of the Holy Spirit, the Promise of Jesus to us. The power of the Holy Spirit helps us to maintain Spiritual sanity and discernment at such a perilous & dangerous time as the one we are living in today. The Holy Spirit keeps us vigilant and provokes sensitivity in the spiritual realm and without Him we will find ourselves walking in the outskirts of Holiness and following compromising paths. The Holy Spirit prepares us to meet our LORD, without blame, without spot, without wrinkle; blameless before a Holy Father. To be able to walk in the Highway of Holiness we must centralize on the Holy Spirit of God.

This highway of Holiness is unpopular with many and actually only a remnant has the courage to walk in it – “strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt 7,14).  When we look around nowadays preachers of Holiness are very few and even so, in their courageous acts to teach the Truth of God, which is Holiness, the multitude perceive them to be taking the salvation concept overboard and are often branded “holier than thou” Crusaders. But even so, although the ones who walk in this Highway of Holiness are thought to be fools, but to God they are the wise ones, a blessed congregation. Be encouraged brethrens by this blessed assurance from our LORD. Paul wrote: “we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness” (1Cor 1,23)

What we should give priority when walking on this path is giving our God the acceptable sacrifices of purity, holiness, integrity & uprightness of heart.

As I come to the close, I wish to ask each one of us to re-examine ourselves and see if our Christian walk is wholly based in this Highway of Holiness, which guarantees entry to our destiny, Heaven to enjoy eternal Life with Jesus. Let’s not be found wanting by God’s measuring yardstick when He gives the signal for the curtains to finally fall and the fruits of the Cross be gathered. Repentance of sins, bearing fruits of the Holy Spirit as stated  – “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.), this should be our Practices.” (Gal 5,22-23)

We should allow the Holy Spirit to reign in every single moment of our short natural lives as it says in God word – “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Rom 8,9-14)

The LORD bless you, lets keep on walking holiness
in HIGHWAY of HOLINESS as we prepare to meet our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

  1. James says:

Key truths for our time!! The Devil is afraid of a correct and focused revival on Holiness and the fear of the Lord.. Lets not be like the backsliding Jews of old who “knew not the Judgments of the Lord”. May there be many hundreds raised up in the mantles of the ancient prophets with the words of Jesus and… “PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD…”

  2. Hugh says:

Such a great blog post Joseph. So important as Christians for us to understand and actually live which needs to be spoken of so much more. I needed this, thankyou. HB

  3. Pere says:

The place believers are going is holy, the road leadind to that place is holy, the vehicle that ply that road has to be compatible with holiness. Thank God for such post. please keep the touch burning.

  4. Ian says:

Holiness, purity, sanctification. Indeed this is what we are called to. Thank you Joseph for your provoking words. I always need to be reminded of this great matter. When I consider holiness it causes me to tremble in my ‘boots’, yet it draws me to my Lord and my God. Holiness, God’s holiness, should promote and revitalize the fear of God in our lives. And that holy fear is rooted and grounded in the unfailing love of God. Isaiah (11:2) prophesied about Jesus that He would have the Fear of the Lord rest on Him, which is of the HOLY Spirit. And in verse 3 it says, “And He is made to breathe in the fear of Jehovah” (LITV). Jesus breathed in the fear of Jehovah for His human soul and spirit liked He breathed air into His lungs for His body. We, I, must learn this too. For too long we have loved our sins (I know I have), and we have been double minded. This has to stop. Proverbs 8:13 says the fear of the Lord is to HATE evil. Not what man calls evil, but what GOD calls evil. And lastly, the calling to holiness means we have been called right out of something totally unholy, into complete and beautiful holiness which is in Jesus our Lord. Thank you brother Joseph once again. I needed to read your message before going off to work again; I had just finished hearing the brother’s testimony of going to Hell and Heaven. Praise Jesus!

  10. David Mwathe says:

When I see testimonies and teachings like these, I wish it were possible to have every literate and illiterate person to get it. This is purifying, for he who has the hope of His coming purifies himself. You are doing a great job.

  11. Ian says:

The Holy Spirit instructs us in “looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith”. The Holy Spirit’s task includes as Jesus detailed in His last teaching (jn. 13-16) before His arrest, that the Holy Spirit would “guide you into all Truth” (Jn. 14:6)… receive from Mine and will announce to you. All things which the Father has are Mine.” (Jn. 16:13-15.
As the Holy Spirit reveals that which is from Jesus to us, it is for the express purpose of working that ‘Word’ into every fibre of our being, so that as the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, that same Word becomes flesh in these earthen vessels in which we dwell: this requires us to count ourselves dead to sin and alive unto God, daily.
The mystery of the Holy Spirit’s function and work is that although He is the One doing this most holy work, yet He remains in the background and does not seek attention for Himself. The Holy Spirit desires that we glorify Jesus and the Father. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit “will glorify (honour. magnify, render glorious) Me” (Jn. 16:14). If the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus the Christ, ought we as followers of Lord Jesus not likewise do so, rather than trying to glorify the Holy Spirit?
Where then is our primary focus meant to be – is it not on the One who paid the ultimate price for our total redemption? Everything, including the fulness of the Godhead is in Jesus.
May the Lord bring you all into every blessing available through Himself.

  12. Johnson says:

This is the type of message/Teaching that ought to be giving to Church at time like this. I am Bless
and it really help me to prepare my teaching also. God bless you Sir.

  13. Shylate says:

Thank you for this wonderful message. May God bless you richly for sharing this!

  14. Ian says:

Isaiah also says “And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it…but the redeemed shall walk there.” 35:8, 9)
We must be redeemed by the blood of the Lamb – Jesus Christ our Lord, in order to walk on that highway to Heaven.
All of Heaven is absolutely holy; absolutely pure. Nothing less than absolute purity will enter into Heaven. It is by the holy blood of Jesus that we can be purified, and also by His holy word, and the constant work of the Holy Spirit.
We must lay aside every weight that drags us down, and the sin which easily besets or surrounds us to overcome come us (see also Gen 4:7).
Sin has a nature of its own; it lieth (Gen 4:7) or crouches outside our tent with intent; it reigns like a king (Rom 5:21; 6:12) to which men become obedient (Rom 6:16, 20 – servants of); works in man (Rom. 7:8); sin inhabits and shows itself (Rom 7:17,20); sin has strength – dunamis (1 Co. 15:56); we must be opposed to sin (Heb 12:4) as God is; sin breeds death (Ja 1:15).

We must, MUST submit to Jesus Christ as our Lord and God each day, counting ourselves to have died to sin with Christ Jesus (Rom 6) and now living to God in Christ Jesus. We must be lovers of righteousness, and pursue it and humility and peace and holiness. We must hide (feast on) the living and all prevailing Word of God in our hearts daily – Psalm 119:11.
The fear of the Lord is to depart from evil (see Job 28:28; Ps 34:14; 37:27; Pro 3:7; 13:19; 16:6, 17), and run hard after Jesus..
The holy will depart from evil. The unholy will not depart from evil. Call upon the Lord Jesus to save you from all evil, and make up your mind – we all must do so – to, in the strength and power of God depart from evil, and with all intent pursue holiness through Jesus Christ our LORD.

  15. Ian says:

Isaiah says that the way, the highway the redeemed walk on is called holiness. The unclean cannot and will not walk on it (35:8..9).
Pro 16:17 says the highway of the upright is to depart from evil; he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.

We cannot walk with one foot on one road and another foot on a different road. We cannot drive a car or ride a horse or bicycle on two different roads at the same time But many Christians seem to think that they can do this and still arrive at the Father’s home where there is absolutely no impurity or uncleanness of any kind. Or if they don’t think that it is possible, they behave as if it is. I was once like this. But I had to repent.

Repentance is what Jesus began to preach when He began His ministry. Jesus never stopped preaching it, and He never told us to stop preaching it. It was Peter’s first sermon (Acts 2:38). Paul said that God has commanded every one everywhere to repent.

We must stop thinking sin is okay. We must flee from it. Sin works death. There is pleasure in sin – BUT there is no life in it.

Sin is a hard cruel tyrant. Sin demands everything and gives you nothing of value in return. Sin hangs around the back door like a bad smell while disguised as pleasure and fun; its face is temptation.

Is it possible not to sin? If we can overcome deliberate sin on one ocassion, which we can, is it possible to overcome sin on any ocassion? You must answer for yourself.
    But hear what God says to us to do;

The more room we make for the word of God in our hearts, the less room for sin. Jesus said that out of our hearts come all kinds of evil. God gives us a new heart which we get when we are born again. Ezekiel 11:19; 18:31; 36:26.
When we are born again we are made new creations in Christ Jesus. We are to live and walk in the spiritual realm wholly submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

We who have been made and are called holy unto the Lord are to depart from evil because of the holy fear of the holy Lord. We are to count ourselves dead to sin and alive to God. Paul says in Romans 6 that he who has died is free from sin. Is our old man (the sinful nature) crucified and buried with Christ..???

    James 1:12.

  16. alex says:

prepare the way, the Messiah is coming

  17. Amen. Even so… COME LORD JESUS!!

  18. IFEDAYO says:

God will continue to bless you sir,for this message. And we will all make it to heaven in Jesus name Amen. Let up all continue to walk in this way of holiness and we must not allow the things of this world to shake us because the WIND OF DISQUALIFICATION is blowing to disqualify us from this heavenly race but the lord said he is with us to the end of the world.we will make it in Jesus name.

  19. Ben Girod says:

This message is a gem–I weep, for the masses of Christianity largely ignore it. It looks foolish–brings backlash from fellow Christians–we become a mockery by those around us. Nothing in the field of Christianity causes greater offense than the CROSS.

  20. Jill Osubor says:

God bless you for this message. May He keep us including you rapturable.
We awaits His glorious return. Come Lord Jesus.

  21. Anthony says:

    God Bless you Sir…

  22. Man! Good message, so the original gospel is still alive..

    • What a wonderful thing God has done in giving us His Beloved Son. As I read through the Bible and pray day after day, year after year, I realize more and more the truth of this glorious fact.
Jesus is our Salvation. Salvation is a Gift; not just something, but Someone – the Divine GOD – Man, He is Jesus Christ the Lord.

Jesus is that Gift; God gave us Himself. He is Eternal Life. Of Jesus, John says – This is the true God and Eternal Life; 1 John 5:20. As Noah had to go INTO the Ark and all those with him, in order to be saved from the coming wrath, so we too must come INTO the Everlasting Ark – Jesus Christ and remain in Him in order to be saved from the coming wrath.
Jesus is Salvation. Every thing that He says, has to do with Himself – with Salvation. My Words are, they ARE spirit, and they ARE Life.

God bless us all with repentance and unflinching holy faith and holy obedience in Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit until He come. Come Lord Jesus. He is coming…even at the door

  23. John Duckner says:

If you die and go to hell, you’ll look back on your earthly life now in great regret. NOW is the time to change things before it is too late! NOW is the time to tell your family and others to REPENT.
Looking back on your week, how many precious opportunities slipped through your fingers to witness about salvation or at least hand out salvation literature? Our days are dark and desperate. Many people are without hope and many others have a false hope. People need ETERNAL TRUTH. They need God’s word. You are to be LIGHT in your area!
Friend of Jesus Christ and desperate to introduce him to others.
